We told our guide we wanted to see the Beijing 2008 Olympic sites if possible, so we stopped for a photo op of the Birds Nest and the Water Cube last week in Beijing. In the theme of it we went ahead and sung the Olympic intro song they played at the beginning and end of each commercial break during the city panoramic shots. It’s like we were there!! Oh wait, we were.
This post is dedicated to Matt and Wendy Bayer, who inspired in us an obsession of the Water Cube, and with whom we watched many memorable moments of Beijing 2008 Olympic swimming. I distinctly remember knowing the Bayers were real friends that night in August when Wendy called and said, “Our power went out. Is your power on? Good, we’re coming over because the swimming finals are on tonight!!” Miss you!

I’d not heard the Olympic theme tune, but I’m sure I’ll recognise it now if it’s played anywhere!
Love your blog – I shall be visiting regularly!

Haha… excellent! I am insanely jealous, but happy to live vicariously through you. I think I’ve told you that before. I won’t say it again.
Jon *should* be finished his last flights today. I *should* be celebrating tonight in full force. He won’t select until next week, though. I wish helicopter training was in Japan.
Also… thanks about the French casual.
Also… we want to Space A to Europe over Jon’s LONG break. What should we know? We want to travel cheap, obviously. Perhaps you should write a blog about Space A and cheap European travel for all of us who want to know. Which is everyone.
Pleeeeease?
