Chris and I safely landed in Tokyo, spent six hours collecting the kitties from customs, 2+ hours driving through downtown to get to the NAF Atsugi Navy Lodge. We’re tired and headed to bed, but the city nearest the base looks great, even in the dark. Think San Francisco—hills and little houses. And just as I’d hoped, we already had a good Thai restaurant pointed out to us (my favorite!!). My camera screen stopped working, but I’ll try not to let that stall the influx of photos. An airport security guy got bored and started playing fetch and wrestling with his drug-sniffer dog, then picked the dog up and danced him across baggage claim. This is going to be fun. After we get some sleep. 🙂

Welcome to your new home! I hope you don’t get too stressed with all the first week adjustments. Are you on Skype? You should be, now that you live in another country… of course, I don’t really know what the military does for that sort of thing. Anyway, let me know soon what your plans are for Christmas. Any European adventures on tap?

Does the food in the upper left corner say “Los Quiches”? As in, espanol? That’s funny. 🙂
