“Midnight Jesus” is about people hitting rock bottom. That’s when they call the late night psychiatric care line that puts them in touch with author Jaimie Blaine.
More accurately, it’s stories about the author watching Jesus show up to meet them in their darkest hour. And I mean darkest hour literally—the entire book is mostly at night.
Blaine is engaging, hilarious, kind, gentle, insightful, and easy to read. I recommend this book to anyone who likes reading books by reporters, or anyone interested in counseling. Or someone who is feeling low and needs some encouragement.
Blaine takes pretty desperate situations and shows the hope shining through. Reading this book feels like riding shotgun with a friend, on your way to meet up with some people. Maybe even yourself.
I rate this free review book four out of five, and I’m loaning it to my mom. I finished reading it at 12:11am—Midnight Jesus indeed!

Thank you! And super cool that you finished at 12:11 a.m. — I've seen many many 12:11 a.m's in my day….
