There’s an article that’s been circling on Facebook about teal pumpkins. I figured it was cheesy and skipped it. I accidentally read it in a moment of weakness and surprise! We’re on board.
In the story a mom is sad that her kid with severe food allergies gets excited at Halloween but it’s pretty much just a bummer for him, and a potential death trap if he eats peanuts or something. We have a sweet little friend next door with lots of dietary restrictions too, and I hated the thought of him being old enough to get excited and feeling left out.
So the deal is, you put out a teal pumpkin if you’re providing non-candy treats. I am a grinch and I hate Halloween candy anyway. It sits around getting funky until Valentines Day—gross. So I got THREE HUNDRED glow sticks on Amazon for like $15. AND we went to chick fil a couple weeks ago in family pumpkin painting night. We figured we might paint a flat pumpkin cut out. No. We painted cute little round pumpkins, and Isaac painted his blue like Thomas the Train—perfect for our teal pumpkin!
Isaac’s little buddy next door is welcome to trick or treat here!! See you tonight!
