Red lanterns, tasty food and Chinese temples on a crisp January evening made Chinatown a fun spot for Hannie and Justin’s last evening in Japan. We wandered the streets looking at panda souvenirs before stopping into the same place we always go for the fried rice or sweet and sour shrimp with wanton sets Chris and I like. Hannie and Justin agreed it was delicious. Fresh egg soup, gyoza, jasmine tea, dessert milky fruit pudding—all included for 980 yen! Too bad we have no idea what the restaurant’s name is. We stopped for coffee on the way back to the train, trying to draw out our last evening together by discussing their favorite foods, events and areas of their trip. We had such a fun time!!So it was sad for it to end, especially when we don’t know when we’ll see them again. Chris and I never feel so far from home as we do when recently separated from family. Sayounara, Hannah and Justin! Travel safely home! š

I am glad you all had such a good time. I feel the same way about family and close friends leaving and we are not separated by the distance that you are. On a separate note, I cannot believe how fast your time in Japan is going!
