“May I have your attention please…. May I have your attention please…. There is a fire emergency. Please evaluate the area.”
Two caymanian fire trucks whooped up as the entire contents of the airport poured out into the street. Of course. Because I’d finally gotten to the front of the taxi queue.
Eventually I made it to my hotel and watched the sunset behind circling tarpons from Ports of Call at the Wharf. Tarpons are huge fish that are too bony to eat.
I brought a little cash to deposit in Grand Cayman. After careful consideration, I invested my pennies the Trumpetfish Bank of the Caymans. What I mean is, I waded out into the Caribbean Sea and dumped a handful of coins to the bottom of a lagoon, where it was immediately investigated by colorful schools of striped fishes. I swam around the bank for awhile, then headed back to shore before my assets froze. So next time you need a recommendation for a good offshore account, remember I’ve got a little money in the Caymans.
