The Katy Tigers creamed some team at the high school football game this weekend. What fun! And I don’t mean watching football. Eating nachos with my sis and her beau and our folks and discussing the merits of having kids so we could be those annoying Spirit Moms because it’s probably fun. I forgot to take any pictures, but here’s Hannie after a recent Powder Puff game. She and her Grad Student Association teammates played a good game on the Rice field. All that football has felt very ‘Texas in the fall.’ Another Very Texas thing: hamburgers. My dad can grill a mean hamburger so I’ve had some seriously delicious burgers here (a food group conspicuously lacking from most Japanese menus). In fact, my parents drove me straight from the airport to the newest Five Guys location (a Jacksonville favorite, now expanded to our side of Houston!!)It’s been great seeing family, but there’s never enough time to see everyone! If I’d had more time I could’ve made my way toward the Dallas niece and nephew, but hopefully I can catch them next time. Now, who are these cuties, and what’s with those ears?!

Oooo, where is that Five Guys? Their website says there is one coming soon on Fry near Kingsland… is it open? p.s.- I blog stalk you… sorry! I love hearing the Japan stories and comparing them with our brief experience 🙂

You know Five Guys is a company that started in Baltimore? There are oodles of locations right near my parents and I love eating there! I would seriously miss burgers if we could not readily buy them.
