I’m not going to be one of Those People who complains about the base Commissary (grocery store) while simultaneously refusing to shop anywhere else. Occasionally I mourn the lack of something I took for granted living in Texas or Florida, like Walmart’s so very excellent $2 jar of Peach Pineapple Salsa. Yes, I’m from Texas; Yes, I can buy fresh local salsa if I want; and Yes, Walmart Peach Pineapple is still my favorite. Don’t judge me! So anywho, that along with things like Bigelow Plantation Mint Tea and fresh chicken are conspicuously missing from our friendly local commissary, but you get used to it. Therefore, I felt like a dork when Walmart’s produce section moved me to such appreciation of its abundance that I pulled out my camera to record all the stacks of multicolored deliciousness from around the world. People who get all snooty about how they hate Walmart and “the man” and all those other things that shot America to the top of the world’s quality of living chart, take note: I haven’t seen affordable, fresh vegetables in six months. And these strawberries here are $1/pint. Oh. My. Goodness. Look at all the food!

Now that looks scrumptious!
No fresh affordable veg for 6 months? No wonder you pulled out your camera! Strawberries … yum!

Thanks, Mari! The “man” certainly deserves props – even if he is the “man.”
