Leaves piled up knee deep around our walls and fence last fall. We have three beautiful mature trees overshadowing our house. They do fall like they mean it.
Last year the lawn service needed to aerate our lawn but it had to be leaf-free. I had a fussy newborn and a husband at sea, so I did nothing until someone knocked on my door and offered to do it for a ton of money. $80! To rake leaves! I bargained them down but it took four adults two hours with rakes and a leaf blower to bag like a billion bags of leaves, so in the end I paid them the whole $80.
This year I bet myself I could keep up with the leaves! I feel bad for everyone else on the block because we have the best leaves by a long shot. Every time the wind blows, our ancient oak tree rains leaves down around our front porch, while the tree itself looks just as full.
