I have no idea what Japan’s weather is really like because the locals say we had a warm winter, a late spring and a cool summer. Produce costs are double what they usually are, say my English students. Last Saturday was the hottest day of the summer with highs in the mid-90s, a bajillion perfect humidity (apologies to family in Texas—I know that’s nothing compared to your summer), and a car with no AC, but as if on cue, Wednesday September 2 began cool and rainy. I woke up at 4 am Thursday too excited to go back to sleep—it’s HOMECOMING DAY!!! I donned my thin black trench just in case it was raining a little. Little did I know I’d need it because it was chilly! I waited outside the hanger in the course of the wind zipping along the flight line. I waited while the helicopter got all the saltwater washed out of its engine, waited while the rotors slowed and stopped. And then—Chris was home!!!
YEA! So glad he is back home with you.
YEAH!!! We are glad you guys are together again.

Yay!!! I always love the part where Chris gets back.
I just love homecomings… they make up for the sad going away part!
