It’s 80 degrees outside but the wonder and mystery of the Christmas tree remains in full force.
Eloise is completely enchanted by a nutcracker music box where Clara dances around and around. Eloise gently opens and closes the silver and red bauble, plucks Clara from the dance floor, examines her, then sets her back down to continue dancing. Sometimes Eloise just lies on her back and gazes up into the tree.
Isaac is more interested in the presents under the tree. After he sounded a little too greedy and self-focused we had a chat about giving to others. The next time we saw toys he excitedly picked out presents for Ezekiel and Eloise. He says he wants to get me some tea.
My kids are perfect for each other. With the exception of sucker punches to the gut and grouchy face scratching, they often seek out each other’s company or even snuggle. Kids playing together at Christmas is pretty much the best. Summer weather can’t dampen that!
