Chris returned to sea for the first part of the multinational sea exercise RIMPAC, and I thought it would be fun to have our own sea exercise: BEACHPAC. We were going strong with boogie boarding Saturday at Kailua Beach, then snorkeling with four kids under seven at Hanauma Bay Monday., Tuesday found us piloting a boat out to the ever-glorious Kaneohe Bay Sandbar, followed by uke lessons Tuesday night and hula class Wednesday night, interspersed with interviews and research on the historic Mokapu Peninsula for an upcoming deadline. Sometimes I feel like we don’t take advantage of living here. This week I don’t feel like that. So there I am, feeling all Awesome Summer Mom, and my kids are like, “I wish we could go to Texas so we could go to the water park.” Well, tough luck, kids. You get what you get, and you get BEACHPAC!
