“Seeking Allah, Finding Jesus,” by Nabeel Qureshi is getting my first FIVE STAR rating of all the FREE review books I’ve read. It was readable, smart, engaging, interesting, well-written and enlightening. I enjoyed learning more about Islam, Pakistani culture, growing up as a third culture kid in America as a Pakistani, and real thoughts and struggles of a seeker of God who wants the truth at any cost.
Quereshi is a devout Muslim growing up in Virginia. His dad is in the Navy. He sees God answer his prayers from a young age, debates Islam with eloquence, and knows his religion and his family ties are inextricably intertwined. But through friends, research, conversations with religious leaders, and ultimately dreams and visions, Quereshi looks beyond what he’s been taught and seeks historical truth. He seeks early copies of the Quran. He goes to the source of his faith and is surprised by what he finds.
Ultimately, he can’t escape where this spiritual quest for truth is leading.
Parts of his journey made me gasp out loud. I read the entire book in two or three days, wrote this review hyped up on coffee, then forgot to post it. I wish I could send the book to my friend who had startling dreams of Jesus a decade ago in Egypt when we were close. Now I don’t know where or how she is, but that is another story.
I RECOMMEND IT. Let me know if you want to borrow it. You’ll learn more about Islamic culture, the Quran, and the Bible. SO INTERESTING.
