I love military thanksgivings!
“Can I bring sweet potatoes? I have to have sweet potatoes,” said Cary.
“Casey will make green beans,” Michelle offered for her daughter. “I’ll make pies.”
“I’ll bring Brussels sprouts, a corn dish, and more green beans. So…vegetables,” Vanessa said.
Molly brought smoked turkey, fried turkey, baked turkey, gravy, and a whiskey pineapple cocktail.
Amber brought pie and more vegetables.
I made stuffing, mediocre mashed potatoes, and delish pineapple cranberry sauce. I also got tropical flowers for all the flower arrangements! The tropical cornucopia was easily the crowd favorite! #tropicalfall
In addition to all the food, we had 15 kids running around the yard with glow sticks and rubber kick balls, and 10 adults.
Celebrating the holidays with the other department heads in our squadron is exactly what I’d hoped for when we moved here. Some of the pilots are deployed, but everyone else was there. If we can’t be home with families, well— getting everyone together out in the middle of the Pacific is pretty good, too!
I’m thankful for friends that make the crazy worthwhile. Thanks for coming!
