Eight people in one car for eight hours! We made it! We listened to a podcast, an interesting new kid album, and endless hours of Octonauts.
The afternoon before we left, the kids paved roads and scooped gravel in the backyard. Excited and overtired kids are rowdy kids, so there had to be some time out for dumping rocks on each other’s heads and stuff like that. Isaac and Jane sat separately on the patio while Ezekiel and Eloise kept playing in the dirt. Isaac whined softly. Eloise keyed in on him, crawled over, and plopped her diaper down next to him. She rested her elbow on his knee and looked up at him matter-of-factly. That’s all he needed. Isaac turned and gave her a big hug. Siblings are the best. Right, Han??
