Despite extremely soggy weather (18 inches in 24 hours!), we are high and dry here at Casa de Krueger. We crossed flooded ditches and swollen rivers on our way to church this morning, and a walk around our neighborhood this afternoon revealed trees flopped on their sides once the soil got too saturated to offer support. then we scurried inside as the rain picked up again. It’s supposed to rain tomorrow too. And the next day. And the next. Compared to hurricane damage it’s a little underwhelming, but some places in Pensacola and Gulf Breeze seem to have been pretty hard hit.
I will consider this our ‘prepare your hurricane kit’ reminder.
